Biography:
I am the luckiest artist in the world to be able to create and share the moment of life changing transition with breast cancer survivors as an Areola Architect. The necessary skill required for the job is supported by my lifetime experience as a professional fine artist in photo realism portrait and figurative painting: I paint portraits and bodies in the style of Michealangelo and DaVinci. I’ve spent the past 25 years developing my name and value as a fine artist and have exhibited in NYC, Monaco in the French Riviera, NY Art Expo, Amsterdam Whitney Gallery, NYC and many, many other art shows across the country, from the west coast to the east, including the Cayman Islands where my oil paintings on canvas start at $3000 for head and shoulder portraits and sell for upwards of $38,000 for full figurative pieces.
Utilizing my lifetime experience as a fine artist on canvas I am now a fine artist on skin with MicroPigmentation as CEO and Areola Architect of cathi.ink.
I have held positions with major corporations as Account Executive for Kinkos and Director of Career Services at Career Education Corporation, White Plains, NY, as well as founder and executive Director of Burnt Purple in Utah, an artist’s co-op gallery. I was Director of Spy Art in Park City, Utah which provided high-end fine art during Sundance Film Festivals. I was born in Washington state and raised in Montana representing the state of Montana in Donald Trumps’ Miss USA pageant in 1981 as Miss Montana USA. I represent the beauty industry from the inside out as a female Micro Pigmentation specialist who is also a cervical cancer survivor and breast reduction recipient. I have experienced first hand, surgically altered breasts and cancer as a young woman.
I earned a BA in Communications/Public Relations from EWU in Cheney, Wa. graduating with honors. I have one small tattoo on the inside of my left wrist by my Mentor and friend, Chuk Hognell, owner and tattoo artist of Mighty Horseman Tattoo Co. in Elmsford, NY (see the hairpin.com article for photo). I designed the symbiotogram tattoo on my wrist over a period of a few months, with 50 hours design work the same year I committed to my profession. I made this commitment as role model to my areola patients - how could I use a tattoo machine on other people if I didn't know what it felt like to get a tattoo? I'm all in....for the mastectomy soldier who has made it through!
